Following my review of Airfix´ Albion refueller I would like to draw our reader´s attention to another extremely useful accessory set by Britain´s leading manufacturer – the World War Two RAF Ground Crew with carts …
The illustration instantly remindend me of the 72nd Airfix sets of the 1970s – maybe this has been done intentionally?
May that be so or not – it is nevertheless very pleasing to us older modeller´s eyes …
Airfix doesn´t let you alone when you are standing in your local hobby shop: The usual question „What´s inside the box?“ is answered on the backside:
Very thoughtful – thumbs up to Margate!
Inside the box are two sprues in medium-grey plastic plus some vinyl for the hoses (which is, by the way, very useful for your Albion Fuel Truck!):

The moulding, the poses -even the faces- are simply superb:
Not to forget the dog!
The manual is perfect – first the assembly …
… which is followed by the painting instruction:
Don´t let yourself be distracted by the awful faces in the drawings – in „reality“ they are much more pleasing!
The same goes for the carts: Build them ….

What really caught my eye was the introduction to this set – the „story of the unsung heroes“, I would like to say:
To write a conclusion is more than easy: Go out and buy one or two of these lovely sets!
I will use the carts and figures in several displays of captured Luftwaffe aircraft and by mixing the Airfix personnel with ICM´s crew you can even broaden the varietes …
